Things I caught myself saying today:
"Are you chewing on my carpet right now?" - to a KG. And yes, he was chewing on a piece of my carpet.
"Do it again and watch what happens" -- My threat occasionally if I'm really caught off guard by a behavior. Believe it or not, it works most of the time. Kids are scared at the unknown consequence.
"I'm so sorry you aren't ready to be in 8th grade today. Would you like me to find you a Kindergarten room to go to?"
"No, you can't go to the nurse right now." -- x1,000,000,319 times
"No, you're not going to go to the bathroom right now." -- x2,000,000,319 times
"******, PLEASE don't pee on yourself in my class today." - to a KG
"Stop playing tetris with your bums on my carpet. Just because one student gets up to walk to the Smartboard doesn't mean EVERYONE needs to move their seat on the carpet..." -- All 5 KG-2 classes.
"Can you page security to come to my room please? I have a student who is refusing to leave my room..."
"Oh, now I'm your favorite teacher? What, music is that bad? You should have been nicer to me and maybe I would let you hide out in my room. So sad, see you later!!"
